Pilates is a method of exercise that emphasizes elongation of the muscles while developing a sustained strength of the spine and torso.
Fit RX
Fit RX is an ongoing three month fitness program at Chico Sports Club that helps participants achieve a more active lifestyle. In teams of five, individuals are dependent on each other to reach health and fitness goals, while earning points toward a team goal. Points aren't earned from results, but from participating in CSC exercise classes or in planned fitness activities in the community. After three months, the winning team is rewarded with a grand prize. When you take the initiative to exercise, you earn the points!

Kettle Bells
What is a kettle bell? It looks a lot like a Russian cast-iron weight with a handle attached to the top. Its simple look, though, doesn’t reveal how extensively the kettle bell can be used.
Chico Sports Club’s kettle bell classes incorporate cross training routines that allow participants to aggressively slash fat, build muscle and increase cardiovascular endurance. Class times can change on a monthly basis, so contact Heidi in the Fitness Department for more information.
W.O.L.F. (Weight training fOr Lasting Fitness)
W.O.L.F. is an all female weight training class that teaches participants how to safely and effectively use free weights and machines. Many women think that weight training will make them muscular and “bulky.” The truth is that it would take a woman a considerable amount of time, and dietary supplements, to develop bulky muscles that are commonly associated with men. Weight training will build muscle, but this will only make for a firmer and more toned body.
