Cardiopulmonary Prevention Program

Are you ready to commit your mind and body to a lifestyle of healthy living? Join Chico Sports Club’s Cardiopulmonary Prevention Program.

Qualified exercise physiologists provide supervision for the program and will collaborate with your physician to produce a custom exercise program that considers your clinical and pathological health concerns.

Chico Sports Club provides a comfortable, friendly atmosphere to participate in a variety of exercises that ensure an improved quality of life.

Who can participate?

Everyone! If you have respiratory problems, suffered a heart attack or a stroke, or suffer from any other cardiac or pulmonary problems, or if you just want to reduce your blood pressure and cholesterol, the Cardiopulmonary Prevention Program is for you!

Program Breakdown

Our Cardiopulmonary Prevention Program consists primarily of cardiovascular exercise on a treadmill, bike, arm ergometer, or Nustep. It may also incorporate resistance training. The cardiovascular equipment is programmed for each participant to operate at an appropriate speed or resistance. We also feature a line of resistance equipment that automatically adjusts the seat height, resistance level, and counts the number of performed repetitions for the participant, taking the guess work out of the exercise and preventing injury due to poor form or overexertion.

Social and Educational Benefits

Equally as important as recovery and prevention are the social and educational benefits. Participants develop lifelong exercise habits and often lifelong friendships because of the social support in our program.

Many of our current participants have been part of our program for many years. Not only do participants enjoy themselves immensely, they also have experienced drastic changes in blood pressure, cholesterol, heart rate, body weight, stroke volume, cardiac output, blood oxygen saturation and stress levels.

Monitorization may also include:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Oxygen Saturation
  • Heart Rate
